The pro-British Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) has narrowly won the most seats in the Northern Ireland Assembly, edging only one seat ahead of Republican Party Sinn Fein.
Final results declared Saturday showed the DUP lost its overall majority, winning 28 seats and Sinn Fein won 27 after all of the Assembly's 90 seats were officially counted.
The two largest parties will have three weeks to form a new power-sharing government. More than 800,000 of the 1.25 million eligible voters took part in the election on Thursday.
