Palestine to be freed thanks to Muslims’ unity

Palestine will be freed if Muslims get united against the Zionist occupiers, Sheikh Mahmoud Ashour, former deputy of Al-Azhar and member of the Islamic Research Center said on Saturday. He made the remark on the opening day of the 5th International Conference on the Palestinian Intifada in Tehran. The Egyptian figure noted that Egyptians are ready to die for the materialization of Palestinian ideals. “if Europeans with major historical-cultural differences agree to get united on a matter, Muslims who have a much more common history and culture can get united more easily,” the Egyptian cleric underlined. If Muslims had been united, the Palestinians’ situation would have been indifferent today, he said, adding that every Muslim around the world should pursue unity among Islamic nations, he stressed. The 5th International Conference on the Palestinian Intifada with participation of parliamentary delegations including several speakers, leading political figures and scholars from 50 Islamic and non-Islamic countries as well as leaders of several Palestinian groups opened in Tehran Saturday morning. The two-day conference is focusing on the motto of “Palestine, a land only for Palestinians”.
