
The extraordinary meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers on the Situation of the Rohingya Muslim minority in Myanmar kicked-off here on Thursday.
HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi heads the State of Qatar's delegation to the meeting.
During the meeting, the Foreign Ministers of Member States are going to take steps to be implemented by the Organization and the international community to urge the Myanmar government to allow the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the Rakhine State, where the minority Rohingya Muslims are concentrated.
The meeting will also address the root causes of the violence, and widen the scope of dialogue among the groups to ensure the return of the displaced Rohingya population to their homes in safety and dignity.
At the end of the meeting the final statement will be announced, including decisions to be reached by the foreign ministers on the situation of Rohingya minority in Myanmar.
