San Fransisco - Upi

San Francisco police said a New Jersey man stole a Pablo Picasso pencil drawing from a gallery the day after he arrived in town. Police Chief Greg Suhr said Mark Lugo, 30, arrived in San Francisco from Hoboken, N.J., Monday and took Picasso's "Tete de Femme (Head of a Woman)" from the Weinstein Gallery the following day, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Friday. Investigators said they found Lugo at a Napa apartment complex where he was staying with friends and the 1965 sketch, which the gallery was in the process of selling for more than $200,000, was recovered. Lugo was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. Lugo was believed to be working alone and was preparing to have the painting shipped to an unidentified person, police said.
