Abu Dhabi - Arab Today

Companies registered with Tas’heel's online services and which employ over 1,000 workers, will be required to hire Emirati citizens for data entry positions starting in 2017, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced today.

Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, said that any violations will cost the company additional work permits. "The new Decree aims to provide job opportunities for nationals in the private sector under Emiratisation, hence the ministry’s recent name change," he said.

Ghobash added, "Emiratis' successes in that particular field have been noticed over the past years, therefore, we decided to localise data entry positions across major companies, a step we believe will bring many positive outcomes."

Around 1,000 UAE citizens are filling positions at 44 Tas’heel service centres across the UAE. These centres are part of the private sector and are supervised by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

Ghobash explained the ministry’s readiness in providing a list of qualified Emirati cadres for filling these positions across major companies. There are 375 major companies that employ over 1,000 workers according to the ministry’s database.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation allows companies registered in ‘eNetwasal’ online services, which is available at ministry's website, to use Tas’heel related services online without the need to visit the centre.
