Tel Aviv - Ma'an

The Israel army had intensified its presence in the West Bank for fear of demonstrations during the vote for membership of the state of Palestine at the United Nations later this month, Wednesday said the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronot. It said that Israeli army deployed one of its reserve battalions throughout the West Bank in preparation for the UN bid. Trucks were seen carrying tanks heading from the Jordan Valley to different areas in the West Bank. The Palestinians have said many times that their rallies are going to be peaceful. The Palestinian Authority had also said it will not allow any violent demonstrations at contact points with the Israeli army in the West Bank.
