Tehran - Qna

Iran has voted for giving Libya''s seat at the United Nations to its National Transitional Council (NTC), the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Ramin Mehmanparast said Sunday. Iran''s news agency (IRNA) quoted Mehmanparast as saying that Libya''s NTC was acting ''as the political representative'' of that country. "Respecting the will of the Libyan people to restore peace and security to their country, Iran has voted for transferring of Libya''s seat at the UN to the NTC," Mehmanparast stressed. Congratulated again the victory of the Libyan revolution, the spokesman hoped that the NTC would bring about national unity to Libya.
