the Rohingya Muslim minority in Rakhine state in Myanmar
Geneva - Arab Today

The U.N. Human Rights Council has approved the dispatching of a fact-finding committee to investigate the reports of wide-scale murder, rape and torture of the Rohingya Muslim minority in Rakhine state in Myanmar at the hands of military and security forces.
The 47-member council unanimously approved an EU resolution calling for complete accountability of perpetrators and bringing justice to the victims. A U.N. report issued last month and gathered accounts from Rohingya people who fled to Bangladesh said that security forces committed mass murder and rape acts against the minority in what could amont to crimes against humanity or ethnic cleansing.
Myanmar delegation said such a move is unacceptable, while India and China said they will distant themselves from the matter.
