Guinea recognizes Libyan NTC

The Guinean government on Sunday officially recognized the National Transitional Council (NTC) as the legitimate representative of the Libyan people, an official statement read on national radio indicated. A source close to the presidency said that Guinea's recognition of NTC comes after a similar move by many African countries as well as those from the other parts of the world. "I think it's early to speak about sending a Guinean delegation to Libya, even though the National Transitional Council has officially been recognized by the Guinea Republic," a communication official at the office of the president who declined to be named said.
