
Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry headed for New York at dawn of Monday for urgent meetings with senior UN officials over the tragic killing of 21 Copts by Daesh in Libya.
Shoukry will meet with UN chief Ban Ki-moon, his aides and members of the 15-state Security Council upon the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Foreign Ministry spokesman Badr Abdel Aati.
Shoukry will urge the UN take strong and effective steps against terrorist organizations adopting the same radical ideology and seeking the same malicious goals.
After New York, Shoukry will head for Washington where he will attend an anti-terrorism summit.
