Dangerous cables exposed

Broken cables are a serious issue near Al Nahda Park, Sharjah, as reader Asif Mahmoud said: “This is a residential area and lots of people walk here. Most of the cables that connect to streetlights have come above the surface of the ground. During the night, I have seen electric sparks emitted from the broken cable wires. This is extremely dangerous, because many motorists park in such sandy areas. Proper insulation for cables is required. I hope this observation will be helpful as a public alert and also help the authorities take immediate action.” From gulfnews.
