Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zidane will visit Khartoum for talks with Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir and his first deputy Ali Osman Taha on Thursday, a source close to Arabstoday says. The visit comes at a time of remarkable improvements in Libyan-Sudanese relations following the Libyan Revolution and the fall of former leader, Colonel Gaddafi. Libyan authorities and rebels have already expressed their gratitude to the Sudanese government for its prominent role in overthrowing the Gaddafi regime. Khartoum, in turn, praised the Libyan revolution for removing a leading sponsor of the Ahmed Darfurian movements. More recently, Khartoum has expressed a willingness to help Libya through the country's post-revolutionary period, while Libyan authorities have offered employment opportunities to Sudanese professionals in fields such as education and health. In an earlier interview with Arabstoday, the Sudanese Ambassador in Libya, Haj Majid Siwar, said that the Sudanese embassy is collaborating with Libyan authorities to take up these employment offers.
