
The two-day United Nations Sanctions Training Workshop wrapped up its activities at Cairo Center for Conflict Resolutions and Peacekeeping in Africa.
The training workshop aimed to introduce UN sanctions regime to national stakeholders, including relevant Egyptian ministries and bodies engaged in the implementation of sanctions measures.
The training was delivered by UN experts, including facilitators from the Security Council Affairs Division.
Its objectives are introducing UN sanctions regimes and their evolution, understanding the measures used by UN sanctions regimes, exploring the tools available to Member States for effective implementation of sanctions measures, including sanctions lists and websites.
The course also presented Member States best practices concerning sanctions implementation and best practices concerning interaction among relevant national and international implementing actors.
The course also targeted focal points at Egyptian ministries and entities involved with sanctions monitoring and implementation.
