
A Tunisian man stabbed his fiancée several times before turning the knife against her mother ?after having an argument about the date of the wedding. The murders took place in the northern Tunisians city of Beja and occurred as figures show an 80 percent increase in psychological problems following the 2011 revolution. The crime rates in Tunisia have steadily increased since January 14, 2011 as lower and middle classes ?are experiencing more economic hardship, marginalization and mistrust in the government. Statistics reveal that the number of Tunisians taking sedatives or similar drugs ?exceeded 40 percent, while mental health expert have said more than 70-80 percent Tunisians are suffering ? psychological issues that in 30 percent of the cases developed into a mental illness or severe psychological problems.
