
The Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) has set January 13 to begin its trial of assassination former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq el-Hariri. "STL has announced the confirmation of an indictment accusing Hassan Habib Merei of involvement in the 14 February 2005 Beirut attack for which four other accused are to be tried in absentia; that trial has a tentative start date (13 January 2014)," STL said in a statement on its website on Monday. The Lebanese authorities have so far been unable to locate Merhi. The STL urged the people of Lebanon to provide it with help and support in to properly perform their tasks. Source: MENA
