Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn has invited both Sudan's President Omar Hassan al-Bashir and South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir for a joint summit on January 13, in Addis Ababa. The summit will focus on pushing forward with the peace efforts between Khartoum and Juba, with emphasis on the protocol of cooperation signed between the two countries in September. There will also be discussion on how to overcome the obstacles that have impeded the agreement's execution. The Ethiopian Prime Minister has already conducted visits to Khartoom and Juba, to resolve the differences between the two countries. A South Sudanese government spokesman has confirmed President Kiir's willingness to meet his counterpart in the Ethiopian capital, to settle the current conflicts and pending issues between the two countries.
