South Sudan accuses Sudan of attacks

South Sudan has accused the Sudanese army of violating security and border agreements concluded between the two countries.  Spokesperson for South Sudan Army, Colonel Philipe Aquere, said that the Sudanese Air Force bombed military sites in an area in the Wehda State.  The attack led to the injury of four soldiers and two civilians.  He denied existence of insurgent camps in this area.  The official told Arab Today that the camp is related to the South Sudanese army. He added that Sudan's land troops "violated the territories" of his country, targeting an agricultural area in northeast of the Rank city.  Philipe Aquere added that it is the seventh attack that has targeted the area since 2010.  The army spokesperson has stressed the need to deploy international troops on the borders to "prevent the Sudanese government from resuming attacks against South Sudan."  US Acting Ambassador to Khartoum Joseph Staford has urged the two countries to transcend their differences during the coming period.  The American diplomat stressed that the current differences between the two countries should be resolved through a peaceful dialogue. He praised the recent visit of South Sudan's vice president to Khartoum.
