
Visiting Russian special envoy to the Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov has said his country backs Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's proposal to form a joint Arab task force to fight terror groups in the region.
Commenting on lifting an arms embargo on Libya, Bogdanov told reporters following a meeting with Arab League head Nabil el Araby on Monday that there were ongoing discussions with the Egyptian authorities and the Arab League in this regard, voicing hope on reaching a unified Arab decision on the issue.
On the situation in Syria and Yemen, he said that Russia backs political solutions for the conflicts in the two Arab countries.
