Rocket from Gaza hits southern Israel

A rocket was launched from the Gaza Strip late Wednesday, hitting an area in southern Israel, said the Israeli army Thursday. The rocket hit an area in the city of Ashkelon but did not result in any casualties or damage to properties, said the Israeli army. No Palestinian faction claimed responsibility for the attack. The Israeli army yesterday deployed Iron Dome air-defense system in Sderot due to the escalating security situation in the borders with the Gaza Strip which resulted in the death of a Palestinian the injury of several others Source: KUNA
