Ramallah – Nazeer Taha
The Secretary General of Fatah’s Revolutionary Council, Amin Maqboul said: “The Revolutionary Council convenes constantly to track the Palestinian progress in its United Nations bid, to ensure that we can respond in a timely manner if necessary.” Maqboul added in a radio interview today: “the Revolutionary Council calls on our people to participate in mass demonstrations throughout the territories to support the Palestinian attempt to gain full UN membership.” Maqboul confirmed that Fatah are currently organising events in Gaza to support the campaign bid. He criticised Hamas’s opposition to the bid.  “How does Hamas justify its position towards the Palestinian nation and the history?  This move by Fateh and the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is for all Palestinians and more than 130 countries support our attempt to establish a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders.”
