Khartoum - Abedalgoum Ashmeag

Qatari authorities tasked with pushing through peace agreements for Darfur have praised the level of cooperation from Sudanese government and rebel Liberation and Justice Movement representatives. Qatari deputy Prime Minister Ahmed bin Abdullah has claimed the Doha Agreement could end growing violence in Sudan. Abdullah meanwhile condemned attacks carried out by armed groups inside Darfur, warning that violence threatens the success of future peace negotiations. The Doha Agreement, also known as the Darfur Peace Agreement, aimed at quelling violence between Sudan and Liberation and Justice Movement militants following a 2010 ceasefire.
