Prime minister: Egypt government resigns

Egypt's prime minister Hazem al-Beblawi said his government submitted its resignation to interim president Adly Mansour on Monday, state media reported. The announcement comes ahead of a presidential election due to be held by mid-April and as defence minister and army chief Field Marshal Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is widely tipped to win the poll if he stands.
