An opinion poll conducted by the University of Haifa has revealed that 58 percent of Palestinians living under Israeli occupation would support a third uprising in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, if negotiations failed. The institution asked Israelis and Palestinians about their views on Israel, and has announced some surprising results. Sixty-three percent of the Palestinians surveyed expressed their support for Iran's right to resume its nuclear enrichment project, while 58 percent of Palestinians said they supported a third uprising if peace talks failed. Seventy-two percent of the participants said Arab parties should be allowed to join Israeli governmental coalitions. In terms of the other results, 51 percent of Israelis polled said they feared an increase in the Palestinian population inside Israel, while 54 percent said they want to live in the state of Israel. Seventy percent of the participants said they disagreed with the notion that Israel should be a majority Jewish state.
