
Kurdish Peshmerga forces repelled an attack launched by Daesh militants from three axes on a village in Tal Afar city in Nineveh Province and killed 40 fighters of them, Kurdish sources said on Friday.
The Peshmerga troops controlled the village after fierce clashes with Daesh militants who tried to attack the Peshmerga security checkpoints set up in the predominantly Arab village, the sources added.
Meanwhile, Daesh elements executed six people and five policemen who were kidnapped eight months ago from two villages in Baiji city of Saladin province, according to Iraqi security source.
