The number of Palestinians killed during events in Syria has reached 654, a report by the Working Group for Palestinians in Syria says. Al-Assad regime’s bombardment and sniping campaign resulted in five deaths on Thursday. The report by the group which monitors the violations to which Syria’s Palestinians are subjected, states that Palestinian deaths in the Syrian conflict have reached “654 martyrs.” “A number of missiles have struck the Yarmouk Camp (near the Syrian capital) since the morning, accompanied by heavy traffic of military aircraft and deployment of security elements in some of the camp’s streets,” the report said, describing events on Thursday. The attacks, according to the report, coincided with “the continuation of clashes between armed Free Army elements and regime forces at the gates of the Tadamun neighbourhood in Palestine Street.” In other camp news, residents have organised a sit-in in solidarity with their brothers in Gaza, which is currently being bombarded by Israel. The participants in the sit-in expressed their anger over what they referred to as “the Arab silence about what is happening in the Gaza Strip,” and repeated chants and slogans. In the Khan al-Sheikh Camp, security forces stormed shops and homes before al-Qussour and al-Villat al-Gharbeya Streets were completely blocked. The forces then withdrew from the area. Al-Hussayneya Camp was rocked by two explosions caused by the bombardment of the al-Mashroua area. The camp remains without electricity. A state of panic and terror struck the al-Aedein Camp in Hama province when loud blasts rattled the area.
