Palestinian Authority spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeinah condemned Wednesday the Israeli decision to build 176 settlements in Jabel Mukaber (Mukabar mount) in Al Quds (East Jerusalem).
Abu Rudeinah stressed that the settlement activity in the Palestinian territories is illegitimate according to the resolution of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) no. 2334 and the international legitimacy.
Achieving fair and comprehensive peace entails establishing an independent Palestinian state with Al Quds (occupied east Jerusalem) as its capital on the borders of 1976, the spokesman affirmed.
He further urged the US administration to swiftly intervene to save the Middle East peace process.
