Mauritania’s ruling party defended itself against allegations from The Parties of the “Treaty”regarding its failure to improve living conditions for its people, at a press conference for the transition of the presidency of the Sawab Party, on Wednesday. Earlier this week the Parties of the "Treaty" criticised the Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz Mahmoudi for the deteriorating living conditions within the country and that the country is in economic and political crisis. Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz Mahmoudi, the head of the Mauritanian Party for Justice and Democracy, which supports the President, said the Parties of the Treaty have lost credibility, balance, and the policies change frequently. "The leaders of the Treaty started to change their stance after they became certain that they are not going to benefit," he added.
