Cairo - Arab Today

Normal security measures were taken in Tahrir Square, the vicinity of the Defence Ministry while massive measures were stepped up around the Ittihadiya Palace and Rabaa al-Adaweya Square ahead of expected Muslim Brotherhood protests. In Tahrir, troops allowed vehicles and individuals to cross the iconic square as armored police vehicles were in the middle of the square. Around Ittihadiya Palace, four armored military vehicles were stationed above al-Uruba Tunnel and two vehicles outside the Heliopolis Club. In Rabaa al-Adaweya Square, several armored military vehicles and troops and security forces were positioned around Rabaa mosque. The so-called National Alliance to Support Legitimacy stages a protest under the rubric: "Students lead the revolution" Source: MENA
