Nahyan bin Mubarak
Abu Dhabi - Arab Today

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, has commended the role of the first Emirates Art Biennale "Dream Land" in enrichment of community interaction.

This has been demonstrated through the participation of artists in many events and the interaction of the public with the activities of the Biennale.

While receiving the participants in the event, the minister commended the keenness of artists to organise the art workshop whether at the Cultural Centre or at the National Theatre in Abu Dhabi for autistic children, as arts is one of the scientific methods to communicate with the community.

The meeting was attended by Afra Al Sabri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, and a number of the ministry's officials. The Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra performed under conductor Riad Qudsi at the musical concert held in collaboration with the European orchestra.

Sheikh Nahyan praised the outstanding technical talent of the participants, referring to the role of the arts in enriching community awareness through various international arts schools.

He underlined the role of the arts in promoting the cultural exchange and effective communication among the peoples of the world.

Meanwhile, 20 Arab and foreign artists participating in the Biennale painted a mural plastic, which was four metres long and two metres wide, to reflect the UAE’s urban development landmarks. They presented it to the National Theatre management as a reflection of the pride of artists in the UAE, and as a symbol of artistic communication among all cultures of the world. This came when the artists visited the National Theatre within the framework of the tour organised by the Ministry for Artists in Abu Dhabi.
