The committee comprises 22 members, led by Minister of Transportation and Communication U Thant Zin Maung.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has stressed in its report the need for Myanmar's new government to invest more in transportation sector so as to develop the country's economy.
According to the bank, 60-million-U.S. dollar investment is needed for the country's transportation sector from now to 2030 to raise the standard of transportation system as in foreign countries.
The foreign investment in transportation and communication sectors stood at about 5.08 billion U.S. dollars in fiscal year 2015-2016, accounting for 7.98 percent of the total.
