Cairo – Akram Ali
The Kuwaiti lawyers’ delegation that volunteered to defend Egypt’s former president Mubarak in his trial on corruption and murder charges confirmed that the team found new evidence and documents related to Mohammed Mahmoud Street clashes and the Cabinet clashes that would clear Mubarak of all his charges, according to the delegation coordinator Youssri Abdel Razek. Abdel-Razek said in a press statement that "recent clashes contributed to the unveiling of a lot of new evidence,” adding, "We were able to get documents that prove three main factors related to the weapons that were used in the clashes, the snipers and the causes of provoking security forces.” The documents prove that there are “internal and external” elements that working together on plots to destroy Egypt, he said, suggesting that these elements took orders from Hezbollah, Al-Qassam Brigades and Muslim Brotherhood. Abdel-Razek also said that Mubarak's Kuwaiti defense lawyers will hold a press conference tomorrow to reveal the new evidence and documents.  It’s worth mentioning that Mubarak trail and his two sons, as well as the former interior minister and senior police officers accused of ordering the killing of protesters during the January uprising, is scheduled to resume on Wednesday December 28, following a three-month halt to decide whether to replace the judge presiding over the case. Earlier this month, the court turned down an appeal for a new judge which was filed by lawyers representing the martyrs’ families to change Judge Ahmed Refaat.
