Head of the 50-member committee in charge of amending the new constitution Amr Moussa said that his meeting earlier in the day with visiting European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton reflected a positive European stance. In press statements after the meeting, he added that the Europeans started adopting a more positive stance towards the recent developments in Egypt. Ashton is now on a visit here to follow up the situation in the local arena, he said, adding that their meeting took up the EU's wish to help Egypt meet its basic needs, especially at the economic level. He added that Ashton will present the EU Council of Ministers with a report on the outcome of her visit within two weeks. He denied reports that his meeting with Ashton today dealt with the idea of releasing leaders of the Brotherhood, who are held in custody over several charges. Source: MENA
