Leader of Egypt's Congress Party, Amr Moussa, has demanded the resignation of President Mohammed Morsi. In a televised statement, Moussa said he wouldn't be attending President Morsi's speech on Wednesday evening because Egyptians have nothing to celebrate. The opposition leader said he hoped the president would stop sugar-coating the current dire situation in Egypt. He held President Morsi directly and indirectly responsible for the current crisis, and said that the nation needed empowering. Moussa claimed that Egyptian Defence Minister Abdul Fatah al-Sisi's statement goes to show that the armed forces are aware of the dangers surrounding the country and will perform their duty towards the Egyptian people. The Congress Party leader urged the head of state to make a fundamental decision in the national interest.
