Morsi sued over Camp David Accords

The Camp David Accords could be modified as the Egyptian Youth of the Revolution party filed a lawsuit to force president Morsi and Prime Minister Hisham Kandil to change the agreement between Egypt and Israel. The party claimed that the weak security presence in Sinai led to Israel violating the Accords by intentionally killing Egyptian soldiers. Constitutional expert Dr Yehia al-Gamal told Arabstoday that it is possible to cancel the agreement after the fall of a number of martyrs on the borders between Israel and Egypt. He said that the Egyptian people have the right to amend the agreement as it does not meet the people’s needs after the revolution. Al-Gamal said; “Morsi has a duty to amend the agreement. The court should accept the case in order to force the government to make these changes happen and satisfy the needs of the citizens. “This agreement is threat to national security; the Egyptian people have paid the price with their own blood in Sinai”. Vice President of the State Council, counsellor Mohammed Hassan, said there is no comment over a decision submitted to the court, which can accept the case or reject it.
