Casablanca – Arabstoday

An official source from the American Embassy in Rabat declared that there was no high level security coordination between Morocco and the United States, following the Moroccan protests against the film that offends the Prophet Mohammed. “The United States considers Morocco to be one of the safest countries in the Arab region,” the source said, "The American Embassy is continuing its works as normal and there are no any security alerts in Morocco.” "It is true that we have taken several precautions in various Arab countries after our ambassador was killed in Libya and we have raised the alert level in many countries in order to be prepared for any security emergency. However, Morocco for us will remain the same; a safe country and there is no fear on America's interests in it" the source concluded. Contrary to what took place in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Yemen and Sudan, the protests in Morocco have been peaceful according to American officials.
