The Moroccan centre of strategic studies is holding this January 24-25 the “Marrakech Security Forum” in the presence of 300 high-ranking civil and military security officials, experts and representatives of international organisations. Held under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, the forum, themed “security vacuum and expansion of fragility zone in North Africa and the Sahel Sahara region”, is co-sponsored by the African federation of strategic studies. The conference, considered as the most important encounter on security in Africa will debate issues related to transitions and security problems, crises and the multiplicity of stakeholders, mutation of transnational threats in the Sahel and east Africa and complexities of the West African new security context. The experts and specialists will also look into “territorial disputes and security fragility” and “security vacuum and new terrorism havens”. Source: MAP
