The Ministry of Labour and Social Development today held an Open Day for the Duraz villagers.

Through the first-of-its-kind event, held at the Al-Ittifaq Sports Club in Duraz today and tomorrow, the Labour and Social Development Ministry aims to meet the citizens directly and inform them about its social care and development projects and programmes for individuals and families, as well as about the mechanisms to receive those services easily.

The two-day event is in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to service ministers to visit towns and villages so as to assess citizens’ needs and follow up on projects.

Labour and Social Development Minister, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, made an inspection visit to the event, attended by the Northern Governor, Ali bin Abdul Hussain Al-Asfoor, MP Jalal Kadhim Al-Mahfoodh, Al-Ittifaq Sports Club Chairman, Ahmed Ali Al-Marzooq, as well as dignitaries and social functions.

The minister listened to the villagers’ remarks on the Labour and Social Development Ministry’s services, and gave directives to place them with the Ministry’s priorities in order to meet them.

The Open Day is in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the orders of HRH Premier and keenness of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to reach out to the citizens to identify their needs to directly meet them so as to ensure they have access to the outstanding services delivered by the government in various fields.

He highlighted the government’s constant desire to put in place a suitable environment that allows the citizens to enjoy all services and benefits so that Bahrainis enjoy a decent and stable life and take part in the kingdom’s development and progress positively and effectively, commending in this regard, the role played by the civil society in Duraz to promote the values of good citizenship.

The first day of the event was massively attended by the Duraz villagers, who held direct meetings with the Ministry’s officials and were given information about the various services provided by the government for their sake.

Northern Governor praised the qualitative event held by the Labour and Social Development Ministry, noting that the first-of-its-kind initiative will consolidate communication and interaction between the citizens and government departments.

He lauded the Labour and Social Development Ministry’s efforts to implement the directives of HRH the Prime Minister to meet the citizens to identify their needs and meet them.

MP Jalal Kadhim praised the Open Day in Duraz, stressing that the event should be repeated in order to meet the citizens’ needs.

Al-Ittifaq Sports Club Chairman lauded the Labour and Social Development Ministry’s initiative to hold the important event, expressing the club’s readiness to harness all its potentials to support open and direct meetings between the citizens and officials.
