
Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan called for a German participation in supporting stability and development after he finished talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel during an official business meeting held in Abu Dhabi. The meeting discussed latest updates in the region especially Syria, Libya and Yemen, and the two countries’ efforts in fighting terrorism and extremist groups
WAM news agency said that, the meeting also discussed changes in the international system and the importance of communication between the major states in order to find mutual understanding that will support peace and stability in the world.
Mohammed bin Zayed invited Merkel to participate in achieving development because of her international position, influential opinion and her knowledge concerning the current events. The meeting also highlighted the bilateral relation and partnership between the two countries in political, economic and developmental fields, and how to increase this cooperation. UAE is Germany's first trading partner in the Gulf region and the Arab region, with 16 billion dollars trade exchange according to WAM.
Merkel also met Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef before coming to Abu Dhabi. She talked about the region situation and how to improve relations, where number of bilateral cooperation agreements between Germany and Saudi Arabia were signed.
