Mauritania opposition launch new initiative

Mauritania's Democratic Opposition Coordination Committee presented a number of initiatives to show their refusal to participate in the upcoming local and parliamentary elections. The Committee said if the opposition parties were to participate in the elections it would undermine the struggle they have carried out in the last four years. The Committee added that participation of the opposition parties would only validate the current leadership of the Mauritanian President and called on op their respective parties to resume the  their fight against the regime in order to  achieve democracy and freedom.
