Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki will soon be traveling to Gaza to meet Hamas' Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh. In a phone conversation with Ismail Haniyeh, Marzouki commended the Palestinian resistance during the Israeli aggression. He said Haniyeh briefed him on the details of the truce agreement signed between Israel and Palestine. On Wednesday, Hamas announced a ceasefire agreement, seven days after the start of “Operation Pillar of Defence” in which 163 Palestinians were killed and more than 1200 were wounded, mostly women and children. Tunisian Parliament is also revising the Code of Criminal Procedure to allow courts to track Israeli officials who committed war crimes, or crimes against humanity against the Palestinian people. Marzouki invited the Egyptian President Morsi to visit Tunisia. It has been reported that Morsi will participate in Tunisia’s celebration of the revolutions January 14, 2013. Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Kamal Morjane said: "The Tunisian Foreign Ministry failed in dealing with the Syrian crisis, especially when it comes to the expulsion of the Syrian ambassador." Tunisia was the first Arab countries which decided to expel the Syrian ambassador last February, in protest against the massacres committed by the regime of Bashar al-Assad against Syrians. This decision cause a stir, particularly inside nationalist movements who opposed the revolution in Syria.
