Tripoli – Emad Agag
Libya’s National Transitional Council (NTC) had decided to dissolve the Supreme Security Committee, and to transfer its assets and funds to the Interior Ministry, NTC deputy chairman, Abdel Hafiz Ghoga announced. Ghoga said during a press conference in Tripoli on Monday evening, that  a national body will be formed by the NTC, from people known for their integrity and efficiency, to assume the application of these criteria on everyone who was appointed to any senior position since the beginning of the February 17 Revolution. He also announced that the NTC had decided to cancel the Ministry of Information; instead the government will form an independent body to establish free media which matches the goals of the Libyan revolution, and serves this transitional phase. He added that the NTC discussed, in its last meeting, the protesters’ demands all over the Libyan big cities. Ghoga hoped that the decision of UN Security Council to lift sanctions on Libya's central bank and a subsidiary to put an end of the cash crisis in Libya will clear the way for the new government to unlock billions of dollars of assets held abroad. Previously, hundreds of protesters rallied in Benghazi's Shajara Square, complaining of a lack of transparency and willingness to forgive the ex-dictator's fighters.
