Libyan Interior Minister Fawzi Abdelali has decided to stay in government after submitting his resignation letter two days ago. This decision follows the violent outbursts that happened in several Libyan cities which saw shrines and mosques being destroyed and graves being dug up. The Interior Minister explained that he was hoping his resignation would have "lifted the critics that himself and many people received, but realised that the situation in the country was more complicated, especially in terms of security." The Minister denied issuing instructions to the High Security Committee to leave their positions. He added that “it might be a reaction of some revolutionaries involved in the committee because of accusations of having a lax attitude.” He  refused to consider that the members of the High Security Committee are former rebels who fought against the Gaddafi’s regime to free Libya.
