Eleven people, including seven with Egyptian, Syrian, ?Lebanese and Palestinian passports, will stand trial in Lebanon accused of “manufacturing explosive devices and preparing them for ?carrying out terrorist acts in Lebanon.”? The group was caught after an explosion in a house in Daria ??in the Kharoub region on August 3. Two Egyptian brothers Abdel Latif and Mohammed al -Dakhakhna were killed in the blast while their father was arrested along with three Syrians, one of which was injured in the explosion, in addition to two ?Lebanese and one Palestinian.? Sources close to the investigation revealed that “there is no connection between this group and any ?of the other groups or organisations on Lebanese territory. They started their own Salafist ?group that targets Shiites, in response to the participation of Hezbollah in the Syrian conflict.”? On Wednesday, the associate government commissioner to the military court, Judge Sami Sader, ?charged three people, a Syrian, a Palestinian and a Pakistani with Danish nationality, who were ?arrested on August 9 at an army barrier, carrying an explosives ?belt in addition to other weapons and explosives. The investigations showed that the detainees were coming from Syria, heading towards the ?Lebanese border town of Ersal and were transporting weapons and explosives.
