Jordan’s Interior Minister Hussein el-Magali has stressed that the increasing number of Syrian refugees has led to difficult conditions in the country - including on the economy, health, infrastructure, water, energy and employment. He added that the services the government offers to the citizens witnessed notable deterioration due to the crisis of the refugees. Magali said during his meeting with UN Commissioner for the Refugees Affairs, Folker Turk, that his country suffers from the repercussions of the crisis, despite its limited possibilities. He called on the international community to help treat the challenges that have resulted from the Syrian crisis. The Jordanian official praised the role performed by the commission and its serious work to help Jordan confront the current challenges, signalling to the humanitarian role of the commission. Turk stressed that the commission will launch a plan to deal with the repercussions of the Syrian crisis, adding that they will pay attention to the challenges that currently face Jordan.
