Jordan seeks to keep Eager Lion training weaponry

Spokesperson for the Jordanian government, Mohammad Al-Momeni, stated that Jordan has called on US administration to allow them to keep the weapons used during Eager Lion - the 12-day annual military exercise which began last week. Al-Momeni said the step has come in the framework of continued efforts aimed to develop Jordan's military and defensive abilities in the coming period. He added that Jordanian armed forces will supervise these arms, whilst American experts will provide technical support. Jordan's prime minister has expressed his country’s desire to obtain developed defensive weapons from the US.
