Amman - Iman Abu Kaoud

A Jordanian parliamentarian has put forward a motion of no-confidence in Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour's government. Mohamed el-Reyati's proposal, which has been signed by 62 MPs, would be discussed by the chamber on Wednesday, speaker of Jordan's House of Representatives Saad Hayel el-Sorour confirmed. Some political observers said the current government's failure to deal with the nation's problems was the main reason behind the motion of no-confidence. They added that the state had failed in its duty to provide job opportunities and curb inflation. Others accused the government of increasing taxes and the price of commodities, and failing to tackle unemployment. Ensour's government, in power since October 2012 has been criticised several controversial decision, such as removing the subsidy on fuel and increasing mobile phone usage prices.
