Jordan parliament attacks Awqaf minister

Another crisis has spilled over into Jordan’s parliament, following remarks made by Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammed Noah. Responding to a question by MP Ali Bana Ata concerning the Zakat Fund, Noah dismissed the parliamentarian as “incorrect and illogical.” Chief Watan MP Atef Tarawneh has claimed the minister’s response was “indecent” and “does not reflect the consultative relationship expected between representatives and the government.” “This is not acceptable from a minister,” Tarawneh added.
