Jordan’s State Security Court has agreed Wednesday to release on bail five people detained in the protests against the decision to raise fuel prices. The detainees are Adnan al-Hawawsha [who lost sight in his left eye due to an injury sustained in the protest], Riahi Qubailat, Ahmed Qubailat, Anas al-Tamimi and Sofian al-Khalafat. Jordan’s State Security Prosecution has released 110 detainees in batches. Among the most prominent people released included activist Ola al-Safi, members of the Islamic Action Front and al-Hawawsha. The prosecution also released 12 juveniles on bail in November so they could resume their studies. 13 detainees are still in remand in connection with the protests, accompanying assaults on security and police personnel and damage to public and private property.
