Israeli ambassador leaves Cairo before strike

Israeli ambassador to Egypt Yaakov Amitai left Cairo on Thursday morning to avoid the February 11 strike, according to sources in Cairo Airport. This is the seventh time the Israeli ambassador leaves Cairo since his appointment in December 12, an informed source added. Egyptian activists plan a national strike on the anniversary of the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak. Campaigners demanding a swifter transition to civilian rule have called for mass walkouts and civil disobedience on February 11.
