The Secretary-General for the Islamic Renaissance Movement, Fateh Rabeei, claimed on Friday that his party was stronger than ever, despite the "rigged local elections" last year. Rabeei asserted that the green Algerian bloc remains the third force in the political arena in Algeria. During his speech in a government meeting to follow up the elections, Rabeei stressed that the results of the elections shows the Islamic trend is still very popular. Rabeei considered that in a fair and credible election, the Islamic movement would certainly have won. The political leader described the successive elections as a "theatre play which started with the last legislative elections." Rabeei added that a new constitutional chapter should be created to ensure fair presidential elections in 2014, as well as instauring "genuine political pluralism."
